Fried Frank has hired two new partners from Boies Schiller Flexner as the New York-headquartered firm continues to expand its global litigation capabilities.

Robin Henry and Motty Shulman join the firm’s litigation department and its securities and shareholder litigation practice in New York, and will provide dispute-related advice to investment funds, insurance companies and financial institutions.

Their arrival follows the addition of London-based litigation partner James Barratt in January from Squire Patton Boggs.

Henry and Shulman’s exit from Boies Schiller is the latest in a series of departures from the top 100 US firm, which included partners Lee Wolosky and Dawn Smalls, who last month left for Jenner & Block, and former co-head of the firm’s San Francisco office Kathleen Hartnett, who departed for Cooley.

The departures follow the appointment of New York-based Nicholas Gravante and London-based Natasha Harrison as co-managing partners of the firm in December - a move that marked the transition of the firm's management to a new generation, although David Boies has continued as chairman and both he and co-founder Jonathan Schiller sit on the executive committee.

Fried Frank’s new additions both bring with them substantial experience handling securities law-related claims and providing strategic advice to clients on matters such as internal investigations, litigation due diligence and structuring out-of-court dispute settlements.

Henry joined Boies Schiller in 1998 from Cleary Gottlieb, where she had spent seven years as an associate. Shulman also served at Boies Schiller for around two decades.

Earlier this month, Vinson & Elkins boosted its New York litigation practice with the hiring of partner and experienced trial lawyer Chris Duffy, another Boies Schiller departure.
