David is an associate lawyer in Bird & Bird’s Intellectual Property department in the Madrid office. He has experience across a wide range of IP & IT work, and he has a particular interest and expertise in certain sectors/industries such as Fashion, Media, Entertainment, and Technology. His practice covers all IP & IT-related matters, including patents, as well as industrial designs, trademarks, domain names, geographical indications/appellations of origin, trade secrets, image rights, privacy, and unfair competition, with particular expertise in copyright and related rights. His work includes intellectual property related pre-contentious and contentious matters, advising large companies and individuals on intellectual property matters, and representing companies in complex transactions. David has been a speaker at several national and international congresses on Intellectual Property and he is a lecturer on copyright law in the Master’s Degree of Art Market Law at the University Carlos III of Madrid. He regularly publishes legal studies and articles on intellectual property on websites and in prestigious national and international publications, and has won several regional and national legal awards for them. He is a member of the Spanish Association of Entertainment Law (DENAE) and LES Spain and Portugal.
