Kunal Makhey thrives at the intersection of law and creativity, helping organizations navigate the nuances of trademark, copyright, and advertising law. Drawing from his extensive work experience in the music and entertainment industry, Kunal is able to guide clients in traversing the complexities of music and film copyright, fair use, the DMCA, intellectual property licensing, film production/distribution, royalty agreements, and in building brand recognition through trademark law. Previously, Kunal also researched and analyzed intellectual property and publicity rights issues related to the use of artificial intelligence (AI) for legislation such as the NO FAKES Act and the ELVIS Act. Kunal is a member of Foley’s Trademark, Copyright & Advertising Practice Group. Outside of his legal practice, Kunal is an accomplished music composer with his original music featured in television shows on leading cable and streaming networks.
