Lára Herborg Ólafsdóttir

Lára Herborg is a technology law and data protection expert and is the head of the IP and IT team at LEX. She holds an LL.M degree in law and technology from UC Berkeley. Her experience includes assisting clients on strategic licensing, telecoms and technology transactions matters. Lara advises clients on a broad range of IP and Technology matters, including copyrights, open-source software, AI and data protection compliance. Among her clients are multinational companies, public entities and large municipalities. Lára has held many lectures, inter alia for the Icelandic parliament, and written articles on the intersection between law and technology — mostly AI, copyright, data protection and cyber security. She is also an adjunct professor at Reykjavik University where she teaches Computer Law and Fintech Law.
