Philip Catania is a partner in the Technology, Media & Telecommunications practice at Corrs Chambers Westgarth, and is chair of the firm’s Data and AI practice. He has acted for some of Australia’s and the world’s leading organisations in their AI, IT and Data Privacy matters and has over 30 years’ experience in technology contracting. Phil is currently a lecturer on Data Law in the Juris Doctor program at the University of Melbourne Law School. A regular contributor to thought leadership, Phil contributed to the “Fairness and Non-Discrimination” chapter in Responsible AI — A Global Policy Framework, a book by the International Technology Law Association. He is also co-lead on the “AI Contracting” chapter for an upcoming 2024 Global Lawyers’ Green Paper published by the International Technology Law Association.
