Hogan Lovells teams up with Elevate to create flexible lawyering

The law firm is drawing from its alumni pool to create a team of freelance lawyers.

Hogan Lovells has joined forces with law company Elevate to create a new flexible lawyering programme.The initiative is part of the law firm's Legal Services Delivery project and will draw from Hogan Lovells alumni to create a pool of lawyers who can be assigned to meet capacity for projects or secondments. Hogan Lovells is the latest law firm to make the move - which BLP pioneered in 2007 followed by other firms such as Freshfields, Linklaters and Allen & Overy.  

Change and adapt

Commenting on the launch, partner Susan Bright said: 'As the regulatory climate and client demand for legal services change, so the legal profession must change and adapt with it. We have long recognised that our clients face evolving challenges and operational pressures, and htis new approach will help to deliver our legal services in a way that reflects those chalenges in an efficient, flexible and cost-effective manner.'

Flexibility

Elevate is an alternative services company which provides consulting, technology and services to law departments and firms. It is the second project which Elevate has worked on with Hogan Lovells - the firm is already using Elevate's cloud-based legal project management tool, Cael. John Croft, president of Elevate, said of the deal: 'Hogan Lovells understands that clients are looking to buy legal services differently. They are looking for law firms to collaborate with law companies to provide the full suite of services they need. We are delighted that Hogan Lovells has chosen to partner with us again and we believe this services puts the firm ahead of its copetition. The Flexible Lawyering programme, powered by Elevate, will give Hogan Lovells the 21st century lawyering flexibility it and its clients need.'
