A&O loses last Sao Paolo partner as trio move to Paul Hastings

Paul Hastings is to open a new office in Brazil after recruiting banking partner Robert Kartheiser from Allen & Overy, the last A&O partner in that office, as well as two Latin American A&O specialists based in New York.

Mr Kartheiser is becoming chair of the Global Project Finance practice. He will in future be joined by Bruno Soares who has built up a large Brazil practice and who will move to Sao Paolo when he gets regulatory approval. The third member of the team that is transferring from A&O is Cathleen McLaughlin who is based in New York and will stay there. She was head of the A&O New York office's international capital markets group and has a focus on Latin America.
