Addleshaws is reportedly in discussions with Cologne-headquartered law firm Luther about a potential merger between the pair. Luther currently has ten offices across Germany in addition to international outposts in London, Brussels, Luxembourg, Shanghai, Singapore and Yangon. The firm posted revenues of £106m for the 2015/16 financial year, compared with Addleshaws’ £201.8m turnover for the same period. While negotiations have been reported by several news outlets, Addleshaws is staying mum: ‘Germany is a market full of opportunity, but we don’t comment on merger speculation and so have nothing to say,’ a spokesperson told Legal Week.
