The firm had a key role advising on 350 transactions amounting to $219 billion giving it the position of top manager advisor.  It also led the pack advising issuers with 106 deals under its belt. All in all, combined debt and equity capital markets activity increased by 5.9 per cent to US$3.4 trillion. Global straight debt also saw an increase – 3 per cent higher than the first half of 2012. Meanwhile global equity capital markets activity leapfrogged from last year by 36 per cent totaling US$388.5 billion.

Venable LLP topped the list of issuer advisors in global equity capital markets with 37 issues whilst Davis Polk Wardwell was the leading global equity and equity related legal advisor to offering managers advising 88 offerings totalling $43.4 billion in proceeds raised.
