Allen & Overy nabs two new Washington DC partners from Cadwalader

The firm is bulking up its investigations and litigation practice in Washington as it adds depth and scope to its global regulatory and enforcement offering.

New partners Anthony Mansfield (L), and Gregory Mocek

Partners Gregory Mocek and Anthony Mansfield as joining Allen & Overy’s office in the US seat of government from rival firm Cadwalader, Wickersham & Taft. Formerly of the US Commodity Futures Tradition Commission’s enforcement division, the pair will bring substantial commodities and financial derivatives experience within US government regulators to Allen & Overy’s existing global regulatory and enforcement platform. Mr Mocek was one of the longest serving enforcement directors in the history of the CFTC, assuming responsibility for all domestic and international investigations and litigation undertaken by the commission between 2002 and 2008. Mr Mansfield served the CFTC as chief trial attorney, and also as counsel to the director of enforcement alongside Mr Mocek from 2002 to 2007. A&O global head of litigation Tim House commented: ‘The addition of such highly regarded partners in Washington, D.C. not only strengthens our global financial services litigation and regulatory practice, but demonstrates our strategic commitment to significantly grow our U.S. practice.’
