In 2007 Mr Donziger won the compensation from Chevron for compensation for having polluted some of the forests in Ecuador. A documentary camera team was shadowing him with the aim of running a film on his famous victory later on. But Chevron never had to pay out, alleging that Mr Donziger had bribed the judge in Ecuador who had decided the case and even drafted his judgement. The lawyer is now on trial in New York, accused of 'masterminding a massive judicial fraud', in the words of the SFGate.
