Burke heads for Boston company Songquan Deng

Private equity firm Arclight Capital Partners has persuaded Ted Burke, global managing partner of Freshfields Bruckhuas Deringer, to leave the law firm and become general counsel in the Boston-based organisation. Mr Burke will make the change back to the US, where he was born, in early 2014 - about a year before his term of office at Freshfields was due to end, according to The Lawyer

InvenSence, the California-based company providing tracking systems for mobile phones and other devices, has appointed Adam Tachner as general counsel and vice president. He joins the company from Qualcomm Inc where he held the same posts for its Atheros subsidiary, according to MarketWatch. Mr Tachner is also a registered patent attorney. Much of InvenSense's asset base lies in patented and trade marked products such as its MotionTracking (™) tracking software for chips and its patent-pending MotionFusion (™) technology for mass-market consumer applications. 

The former head of ethics at AOL, Maureen Del Duca, is moving to New York Stock Exchange-listed Northrop Grumman to take up the role of deputy general counsel for litigation and investigations. She will be in charge of overseeing external legal advisers on litigation, according to GovConWire. Once the head of the investigations and hearings division of the enforcement bureau of the Federal Communications Commission, Ms Del Duca was also deputy general counsel, for litigation and investigations, at AOL. 

Gregory Gehlmann, general counsel and company secretary of Cincinatti-based First Financial Bancorp, is leaving the company on 31 October, according to American Banker. No successor had been named by the time that Global Legal Press went to press. The news came in a regulatory filing which also said that there had been no disagreement with the company or concern on Mr Gehlmann's part about the company's practices or financial condition. Some other changes have taken place at top management level this year.
