Ashurst has bolstered its Italian restructurings practice with the hire of Mr Manganelli, who is joining from Paul Hastings after two years in the firm’s partnership. Mr Manganelli specialises in restructuring and special situations work, as well as corporate, M&A and general insolvency matters. He advises Italian and international clients on export controls and international sanctions, assisting clients in assessing compliance risks and conducting transactions in compliance with applicable sanction regimes.

While at Paul Hastings, Mr Manganelli was seconded to the firm’s New York office for one year and was actively involved in major Chapter 11 restructurings handled by the firm during that period. Ashurst’s managing partner for Italy, Stephen Edlemann, commented: ‘Paolo is regularly involved in high profile and complex corporate restructuring transactions.
