A team of 30 Ashurst staff, including 21 lawyers, will be transferring to local outfit Hamilton in July as international firm Ashurst closes its operations in the country. All four of Ashurst’s Swedish partners will retain their positions at their new firm, while two Ashurst associates – Charles Andersson and Fredrek Hag – will also be promoted to the Hamilton partnership. Following the transfer, Ashurst will retain a referral relationship with the Stockholm-based dispute resolution and insolvency firm, which will now have 80 lawyers and 110 employees in the city. ‘The relationship with Hamilton will ensure that international clients undertaking business in Sweden will continue to have access to top-class Swedish legal advice and Swedish clients will be able to access Ashurst’s international network for outbound work,’ said Ashurst managing partner Paul Jenkins.
