The Australian partners gave an 'extremely high level of support', according to chair Mary Padbury, quoted in Lawyers Weekly. The same criteria will apply to all partners on the profits share regardless of location. Ms Padbury said: 'The big thrust of the system, and what a lot of primacy is put on, is the extent to which a partner is able to enhance and grow a client relationship for the benefit of the firm as a whole.'
The vote has taken place exactly two years after the overall merger was approved between Ashurst LLP and Blake Dawson in Australia. The merger brings together 1,800 lawyers in 28 offices in 16 countries.
