Switch Legal – staffed by former in-house lawyers at the National Australia Bank – says it will keep overheads to a minimum in an attempt to provide the most efficient service possible.
Value struggle
According to Australasian Legal Business Online, the four directors are Melanie Noble, Natalie Williams, Chris Broadbent, and Andrew Meldrum.
‘Dealing on occasions with external lawyers, we saw firsthand the struggle that most of the external firms had in really meeting corporates half way in delivering real value and cost certainty,’ said Ms Nobel, who was most recently head of legal, technology and intellectual property at NAB.
Pressure to deliver
Ms Noble went on to tell the web site: ‘Something we have in our favour is that for the past four years, and previously in other in-house roles, we have worked under pressure to deliver within very short time frames. We are used to doing that now.’
The move comes only a few weeks after the launch of Riverview Law in England, which brings a mix of barristers and solictors offering fixed-fee deals to clients.
