Baker Botts heads to Brussels

Houston-headquartered law firm Baker Botts has extended the reach of its antitrust and competition offering with the opening of an office in Brussels.

The firm has also confirmed the capture of highly-regarded European expert Catriona Hatton from US rival Hogan Lovells to lead the office as a partner, whilst competition law expert Paul Lugard joins from Royal Philips Electronics as a partner.

Strategic decision

Baker Botts’ managing partner Andrew baker said: 'Adding Brussels reinforces a strategic decision we made last year to expand our Antitrust practice internationally.'

'Catriona and Paul bring to the firm decades of experience working at the highest levels of European competition law and policy. They join our highly-regarded group of antitrust lawyers who have a strong record of involvement in international antitrust and competition law matters, including matters before the European Commission and Member States,' he added.
