Beiten Burkhardt exits the Ukraine

As trouble brews in the Ukraine, the German law firm has closed up shop with its team heading over to Gide.

Gide Loyrette Nouel  has picked up a team from German law firm Beiten Burkhardt, the second acquisition by the French law firm in two months.The nine lawyer group will join Gide following Beiten Burkhardt’s closure of its Ukraine operations over uncertainties around the country’s future relationship with the EU and amidst political protests on the ground. The corporate and real estate team is lead by partners Julian Ries and Oleksiy Feliv and is the second international closure for Beiten Burkhardt which pulled out of Warsaw in 2012. 
Gide’s Kiev office has 20 lawyers and consultants. In October the firm swiped 19 lawyers from Morgan Lewis’s Paris office.
