Leading legal experts from brands and brand owners including Belmond, De Beers, Loewe, Rimowa, Stella McCartney and Tapestry are starring at the upcoming Luxury Law Summit in London.
The annual one-day event bringing together the sharpest minds from the luxury industry will be held once again at the British Museum, taking place on Tuesday 11 June. The theme for this year’s summit is Reimagining Luxury: Disruption, Design and Distinction, exploring how brands are navigating the fast-changing luxury landscape.
Panel sessions include a deep dive into the luxury issues impacting general counsel, chaired by Belmond GC Abbi Hunt and featuring De Beers GC Tom Johnson and Rimowa chief legal officer Tobias Kircher. Also on the agenda is a panel on luxury M&A, AI’s potential in the luxury market and data protection trends that luxury brands need to be ready for. The opening keynote speech will be delivered by WSP’s head of economics Jim Coleman, who will discuss the interplay of creativity and authenticity for high-end experiences.
Other speakers slated to take part include Loewe’s global legal head Jaime Lopez De Villareall; Louis Montanié, data protection officer at LVMH; Amber Knight, senior legal counsel at Stella McCartney Ltd; Amaryllis Seabrooks, associate GC at WME Sports; Martha Kolasinska, legal counsel at Ralph Lauren; Cécile Cailac, global head of IP at Chanel; Jennifer Guilfoyle, CLO at Maybourne Hotels and Peter O’Keeffe, head of legal at Dr. Martens, among other guests.
The day will be interspersed with the Luxury Law Awards, with categories including IP Team of the Year, Partner of the Year, Law Firm of the Year (international and independent), General Counsel of the Year and the Lifetime Achievement Award. There will also be a fashion showcase by British designer Lucy Tammam, a luxury book launch session and an evening drinks reception sponsored by Oracle Solicitors.
