New York Law firm Chadbourne & Parke is to lease the Manhattan head offices of defunct firm Dewey & LeBoeuf.The firm has leased 200,000 square feet from Dewey although Dewey still occupies one floor in the building.
A report in the Chicago Tribune said that the deal wis the largest lease transaction in New York by a law firm so far this year. Chadbourne’s managing partner Andrew Giaccia said in a statement that the deal “allows us to take substantial space under attractive terms in the former headquarters of Dewey & Leboeuf.
According to the report, the lease will run for 20 years and includes two five year options for renewal and will go some way to helping the landlord Paramount which is owed $3.78 million by D&L.
