Clients accused over shooting of lawyer in India

Police have pointed the finger to clients in a land dispute after a lawyer was shot and killed in Noida, in India.

The motive, according to the police, appears to have been the failure of 45-year old lawyer Bhima Yadav to obtain an order in favour of his clients in a land dispute.

Four year relationship

Mr Yadav had been representing his clients in the case for four years. Six of his clients had been arrested recently. While  he managed to get some out on bail, he did not succeed to get all out. This was the motivation for the shooting, according to a theory advanced by the police. The lawyer was at his home, said the police, when two assailants arrived on a motorbike, entered the property and shot him at close range. Source: The Indian Express
