Clifford Chance's (CC’s) global head of internal communications, Baker McKenzie's chief marketing officer and Chiomenti’s head of communications are among a host of top speakers appearing at next week’s Law Firm Marketing Summit.

The virtual summit next Tuesday (5 October) will be chaired by TerraLex chief executive Terri Pepper Gavulic and Lexington Consultants co-founder Moray McLaren and bring together managing partners, senior business development, marketing and communications professionals, general counsel, and world-class advisers

Paul Osgood joined CC in 2017 after a successful career heading up internal communications at leading corporates including BG Group and Philips. He will discuss the challenges associated with moving across to the professional services sector from industry and outline what he believes law firms can learn from strategies deployed by large multinational corporations.

Bakers CMO Wendy Bernero, meanwhile, is among a number of senior marketing professionals in the line-up. She will be joined on a panel with speakers including David Kaufman, director of global strategies at Nixon Peabody, for a debate on how law firms can best position themselves to succeed as the Covid-19 pandemic recedes.

And Chiomenti’s comms head, Gaia Francieri will feature in a session on ESG that also includes Boeing’s India country counsel and company secretary Dr Akhil Prasad.

Among the law firm partners making an appearance is Eversheds Sutherland’s James Batham, who will draw on his experience as an innovation lead in a discussion on brand authenticity with top consultant Richard Levick and panellists including Hogan Lovells’ head of diversity and inclusion, Bendita Cynthia Malakia.

The ever-popular client panel – in which top GCs are quizzed on what they like and don’t like about law firm marketing and business development – also returns.

Moderated by consultant Catherine McGregor, it features: Barry Matthews, general counsel and director of government relations, UK & EMEA, at Meggitt; Lawson Crawford, director of legal and company Secretary, UCLB; Selene Brett, general counsel, Open Banking; and Leigh Kirkpatrick, managing legal counsel, outsourcing, technology and IP, Royal Bank of Scotland.

Also joining the speaker faculty, for a wide-ranging discussion on summit’s key themes, will be Jaime Carey, co-secretary general at the IBA.

In addition, the summit will feature: a business development masterclass, led by consultant Deborah Farone, former chief business development and communications officer at Cravath Swaine & More and an online marketing masterclass sponsored by Passle.
