Clyde & Co is expanding its US presence with three new office openings in the Southwestern region of the country following the arrival of a team of insurance lawyers from Foran Glennon Palandech Ponzi & Rudloff. 

The team is led by partner Amy Samberg and the new offices are in Phoenix, Denver and Las Vegas. Samberg brings with her a team of six senior counsel – Amy Stein in Phoenix; Jerri Wettestad, Kevin Hoskins and Tamara Jordan in Denver; Dylan Todd in Las Vegas; and Jefferson Patten, who will be based in Clyde & Co’s existing Chicago office. They will be joined by associates and other support staff, with the firm saying it expected to take on around 10 lawyers in total. Samberg will be based across all three Southwestern offices.

The trio of openings takes Clyde & Co’s US office count to 12, having first opened in New York in 2006. Samberg’s team specialises in advising insurers on coverage and bad faith matters across general, professional and financial insurance lines with a particular focus on first party property. Samberg had been at Foran Glennon for just over five years, having previously spent almost two decades at Snell & Wilmer covering the same Southwestern region.

From a national perspective, Amy and her team’s practice complement the existing insurance expertise we have across the US.”

Clyde & Co’s US expansion is the latest chapter in the firm’s global growth ambitions, having opened in Munich earlier this year following the hire of three senior insurance partners from Norton Rose Fulbright. The firm made up 16 partners in its latest round last month and also opened an associated office in Nairobi back in October.
