College of Law cultivates Spanish connections

The College of Law has teamed up with IE University in Madrid to offer an LL.B degree in Civil and English Law that will qualify undergraduates as lawyers in both English and Welsh and Spanish jurisdictions.

International focus for training lawyers

The programme will incorporate elements of Spain’s civil law heritage along with the traditional study of British common law. The partnership reflects a growing demand for lawyers who are fluent in multiple jurisdictions and can practise across borders.

Global Market

Students of the course will split their time between IE University’s campuses in Segovia and Madrid and at one of the College of Law’s eight centres in England. This year also marks the launch of the undergraduate LL.B law degree at the College of Law, the largest accredited independent institution in the UK.
‘In business as in life you are judged by the company you keep,’ said Professor Nigel Savage, Chief Executive of the College of Law. ‘Like the College, IE is a world class operation that has made enormous strides in the global market in recent years and which operates with the same values and mission as the College.’
