But the proposer of the motion, James Parry, a defence lawyer from Liverpool, has no intention to take the vote to a larger ballot of all members of the profession, an option which will remain open to members for the next 28 days. He said: 'We must call the Law Society to account… if we don’t, we face the destruction of the legal aid system and many of our businesses.' he and others are concerned that the Society has not been more effective in negotiating with the Ministry of Justice over Legal Aid.

Day of action
