The firm follows on the heels of several others which have set up teams this year - including LeClairRyan, McKenna Long & Aldridge, Kramer Levin Naftalis & Frankel, Morrison & Foerster, Hogan Lovells, Pillsbury Winthrop Shaw Pitman and Holland & Knight. The 800-lawyer Hunton & Williams says it has set up its multi-disciplinary team to advise on ‘the legal complexities associated with the developing regulatory framework pertaining to commercial UAS (commonly known as “drones”), including issues related to regulations and the rulemaking process of the Federal Aviation Administration (such as Section 333 guidance), the National Transportation Safety Board, and other state and federal agencies’.
