Ernst & Young has recruited an ex-Herbert Smith Freehills partner John Dick in Singapore in a move signalling that the accountancy firm is planning to set up a legal services arm. Dick, who was formerly South east Asia managing partner of Freehills, will focus on energy and resources, foreign investment and M&A.The Big Four firm would have to apply for a license to set up shop in Singapore but already has legal operations throughout the world.
