Daily News Egypt reports that the government has also brought cases in front of international arbitration centres.
Maged Shabita – the legal advisor to the finance minister - has met with members of leading law firms, including Baker & McKenzie, representing foreign companies in eight separate international arbitration suits.
Those included in the negotiations include Kuwait’s Al-Kharafi National Group - over price increases for gas distribution to fertiliser companies in Alexandria – and the Saudi Arabian Hokair Group, which sought to discuss conflicting price estimates.
