Eversheds' new law arm launches tech product for in-house lawyers

Konexo unveils workflow and document management service as it pursues growth remit

Eversheds Sutherland’s new law arm, Konexo, has launched a workflow and document management service for in-house legal teams. Konexo Hub is the first new product unveiled by the division since it was carved out of the firm in June in order to become a standalone alternative legal service provider business.

The new service is designed to help legal departments outsource legal work and manage routine matters themselves. Its capabilities include document automation, contract review, workflow management, data gathering and reporting.

It complements Konexo’s legal management and interim resourcing services.

At its launch, Konexo brought together Eversheds’ ES Consulting, corporate secretarial and volume insolvency businesses, which generated a combined turnover of £40m and growth of 38% over the previous financial year.

At the time of Konexo’s launch, Eversheds said the new structure would give it the flexibility to access external funding and consider joint ventures and acquisition opportunities.

It explained: ‘Going forward, the current intention is to move this business into a new corporate structure which will include an alternative business structure and a separate Financial Conduct Authority regulated vehicle into which the volume insolvency team of Eversheds Sutherland (International) LLP will be transferred.’

Konexo currently has offices in London and Hong Kong and is also planning to open for business in the US.

Earlier this week, Pinsent Masons’ new law arm, flexible resourcing specialist Vario, secured a presence in Germany with the acquisition of Xenion
