Fidal tops the French law firm charts

Law firms in France have shown overall growth in revenues.

French firm Gide Loyrette Nouel ‘s  revenues have dropped  to €133.8 million, according to new research by French legal publication Juristes Associes.
 

The firm, which saw a 6.6 per cent decline in revenue for the year 2010-2011 relinquishes third place in the table to Ernst & Young. Other firms recording a decline include Latham & Watkins, Orrick Rambaud Martel, Jeantet, UGGC and Lefevre Pelletier.
 

French firm Fidal is still the largest firm in France by size and turnover with the magazine reporting revenues for the firm at €309.8 million. CMS Bureau Francis Lefebvre had the second highest revenue at €153.2 million.
Clifford Chance is the largest global firm in France by turnover with €105.7 million, an increase of 11 per cent whilst SJ Berwin upping its figures to €25.5 million, an increase of nearly 23 per cent.
 

The top 100 French law firms are turning over €3.2 billion a year and employ 2737 partners and 9568 lawyers. Overall, the top 10 largest saw an average 4.4 per cent growth in the latest financial year.
