Former GC pleads guilty to bribery conspiracy

The former general counsel of an oil company is facing jail after pleading guilty to a FTCA violation.

The former general counsel of British Virgin Islands oil and gas company PetroTiger has pleaded guilty to bribery and fraud charges. Gregory Weisman pleaded guilty to a single count of conspiracy to commit bribery and wire fraud in violation of the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act. Two former co-CEOS of the company have also been charged for alleged conspiracy charges as well as allegations of violating the FCPA. Joseph Sigelman and Knut Hammarskjold  were arrested and charged  following allegations that an official in Columbia was paid $300,000 in exchange for assistance to  secure  approval for an oil services contract worth around $39 million.
