In September 2018, Gide will move into new premises located 15 rue de Laborde, in Paris’ central 8th arrondissement after 40 years at Cours Albert Ier. The firm says in a statement that the move 'is a clear expression of the firm’s desire to turn a new leaf and begin a fresh chapter in its history'. Designed by architect Philippe Chiambaretta (PCA STREAM) and listed French real estate company Eurosic, the firm’s future building complex is currently undergoing a major overhaul.

Tradition and modernity

A first building, dating back to the 19th century, will be used to welcome clients. A former eight-floor French Navy site built in 1948, with a contemporary architecture, will be the firm’s second building, which will house all lawyers and employees. To symbolise the link between tradition and modernity,  a new glass and metal building will be erected between the two buildings. 'In combining traditional and contemporary constructions, this ambitious project constitutes an important step in our firm’s history. In line with our values of excellence and innovation, this new address will first and foremost provide a high-quality host venue for our clients, and will provide a completely reviewed workspace for our teams, to encourage collective performance and foster creativity,'  says managing partner Stéphane Puel. Senior partner Baudouin de Moucheron adds: 'These new premises will offer new generation workspaces and support our ambition and growth. They are particularly symbolic in view of our upcoming 100-year anniversary, in 2020'.

Herb garden

In line with the firm’s commitments and everyday actions regarding Corporate Social Responsibility, the terrace-roof of the contemporary building will host a herb garden and green spaces to encourage biodiversity. The firm is aiming for HQE (High Quality Environmental standard) “Excellent” and BREEAM (Building Research Establishment Environmental Assessment Method) “Very Good” building certifications. The building complex has been owned jointly by Eurosic, ACM Vie and group Crédit Agricole Assurances. It is managed by Eurosic, a reference player in the tertiary real estate market and that is currently conducting several major restructuring projects in Paris. The project of 15 rue de Laborde is part of the group’s policy to create sustainable buildings and new-gen workspaces, all the while highlighting the historical nature of the buildings in question. The renovation works for this particular project are entrusted to Eiffage.
