Google's top lawyer lands $3.3m bonus

David Drummond, the chief legal officer at US technology giant Google, received a $3.3 million cash bonus for his performance last year, regulatory filings revealed last week.

Google is splashing out nearly $15m to four of its six top executives according to the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) filing, reports Legal Week.

Record revenues

Mr Drummond, who joined the internet search giant in 2002 as vice-president of corporate development, is also a senior vice president at Google. He was previously a corporate partner at Californian firm Wilson Sonsini Goodrich & Rosati.
The Guardian newspaper reports that Google awarded chairman Eric Schmidt a $6m cash bonus for 2012 as the company reported record revenues of $50bn, despite coming under pressure over its UK tax arrangements.
