Global law firm Hogan Lovells is to join forces with Mexican law firm Berrera, Siqueiros y Torres Landa (BSTL) as it moves to strengthen its Americas practice. The firm will now have around 70 lawyers, including 16 partners, in Mexico focusing on a broad range of commercial work. The move comes after structural reforms in Mexico liberalising the market and attracting a range of new investors to the country. In a statement, Hogan Lovells CEO Steve Immelt said: '2013 issues in sweeping structural reforms for Mexico, which could unlock major potential for investors and companies in a broad range of industries that are looking to capitalise on the current environment.' The deal is expected to go live on 1 August and the firm will be known as Hogan Lovells BSTL.
