Chief Justice Altamas Kabir issued the warning at Gujarat National Law University yesterday, where he awarded medals to students who had shown outstanding performances, reports Indian website DNA.
In his speech, Mr Kabir said: ‘Generally, lawyers are referred to as sharks. Let’s try to get rid of that image. At the same time, people put you on a pedestal.’
Mr Kabir gave a nod to chief minister Narendra Modi’s speech, where he advised students not to delay cases. Mr Kabir said: ‘Don’t delay things, don’t take dates. These are small tips. Such things really make a lot of difference.’
