Irish firm expands China deal

Goodbody wheels out Irish PM to bless Sino-Irish exchange scheme
Leading Dublin law firm A&L Goodbody has extended an exchange programme with a group of Chinese legal practices, in a deal lauded by Irish prime minister Enda Kenny as having ‘the potential to take the business relationship between China and Ireland to a new plane in its development of a professional network which will benefit both countries’.
The programme was launched last year, with Chinese lawyers doing six-month placements at the Irish firm’s headquarters with seven currently working in Dublin. During their time with A&L Goodbody, the Chinese lawyers have the opportunity to work in-house with clients or government agencies.
The recent deal – which was signed in Beijing – extends the programme to some 15 Chinese law firms.
