Respected as an IP and litigation specialist, he was particularly admired for his leadership skills in the early-1990s when he kept the practice stable after the sudden departure of a previous chair, John G Harkins, and several other lawyers. He brought in new lawyers and also increased turnover. Amy Ginensky, a partner at the 500-lawyer, 13-office firm, said: 'At Pepper, Jon was a legend. He led Pepper at a time of upheaval and was beloved for that.'  He took a degree in maths before studying for the law. Donations are being made to the Alzheimer's Association. Source: Philly.com
