Marilyn Warrant, the Victorian chief justice, unveiled an ambitious set of goals to update the way the court system uses the internet. Speaking at the State Library of Victoria, she said, according to The Guardian: 'With the rise of new media technologies, the traditional methods of guaranteeing open justice for the community are rapidly changing. Open justice now increasingly means the ability of the community to access information about the courts is through the internet and social media.' Plans include an interactive website which will enable the public to comment on the site, take part in online discussions, watch videos and download judgements. The court is also to hire an ex-judge who will blog about the court's procedures.
