In an effort to enhance the role of the International Arbitration Committee in response to the growing demand for arbitration under the KCAB International Arbitration Rules, the KCAB has chosen leading experts in international arbitration to serve as the next President and as new members of the Committee. Mr Kap-You Kim (Kevin) was named president of the committee while a distinguished group of international arbitrators including Christopher Lau of Singapore, Professor Doug Jones AO of Australia, Dr Michael Moser of Hong Kong and Professor Joongi Kim of Yonsei Law School, were appointed as new members.
Globally-recognised specialist
Mr Kim is a globally-recognised specialist in international arbitration. A founder of BKL’s International Arbitration and litigation practice group, he is recognised as a pioneer of international arbitration in Korea. He currently serves as a vice president of the ICC International Court of Arbitration and chair of the audit committee of the International Council for Commercial Arbitration (ICCA), a United Nations-accredited global non-governmental organisation of the world’s most prominent arbitration practitioners. Mr Kim is also listed on the Panel of Arbitrators of the International Centre for Settlement of Investment Disputes (ICSID), among other notable arbitration centres around the world.

Mr Kim said: ‘It is a great honour to assume the role of President of the International Arbitration Committee of the KCAB. Serving in that capacity, I will redouble my efforts to contribute to the revitalization and development of international arbitration in Korea.’
First dedicated to international arbitration and litigation
