International law firm Kennedys has strengthened its Latin American operation by entering into a formal association with Chilean insurance law boutique Sateler Depolo Diemoz Abogados (SDD). Specialists in litigation and arbitration, SDD has over 25 years’ experience in the market and has worked with Kennedys for a number of years. The association furthers Kennedys’ international strategy of helping clients develop in jurisdictions with high growth potential and follows the firm’s recent formalisation of itslong standing relationship with Mexican law firm Bufete Solis Marin Abogados, S.C. and its other existing associations in Bogotá, Rio de Janeiro and São Paulo.
Single joint instruction
Alex Guillamont, Head of Kennedys Latin America and Caribbean, says: 'Our clients, international insurers and reinsurers, have been very supportive of our plans to form an association with Sateler Depolo Diemoz Abogados. It highlights the benefit of having both local and international points of view for larger claims covered by way of a single joint instruction.' Mario Diemoz, senior partner at SDD, says: 'We have always been impressed with Kennedys’ professionalism and values, which mirror our own. Since opening in Miami in 2010, Kennedys has grown its profile and track record in Latin America and Chile.'
