According to the ABA Journal, consultants advised the firm’s employees in a memo not to access their personal email even if there is no block in place, labelling it as something that ‘creates a significant security risk.’ Fears of employees ‘innocently’ clicking on ‘malicious e-mails’ causing security breaches are expressed in the memo: ‘We need your help in protecting our systems by following this and other security related policies, even when you can do things that you are not supposed to do.’
As an alternative measure for accessing personal email, the firm has established special wireless networks in each office for the use of personal laptops and mobile devices.
