Ms Ruemmler is planning to leave the White House in mid May, according to a report in the New York Times, based on information received from unnamed officials in the administration. In place since June 2011, Ms Ruemmler has held the White House counsel post longer than anyone else during Barack Obama’s two terms. Kirkland & Ellis partner W Neil Eggleston, litigation specialist in the Washington DC and New York offices, is being seen as a likely strong contender. Source: ABA
