Lawyers have much to learn from financial advisers as to how to meet the full needs of clients rather than providing one-off services with gaps, according to a leading UK firm.

Guy Myles, managing director of financial adviser Octapus, told the Sifa conference, that there is a ‘wide legal advice gap’ which advisers and lawyers could fill by working together. Legal practices are historically drawn to providing one-off services and need financial advisers to help them deliver broader and better client outcomes. He said: ‘There are just under 150,000 solicitors in the UK and, with so many overlaps in opportunities, ranging from inheritance tax to personal injury claims and rewards, advisers have a great opportunity to show how a partnership can add value to solicitors’ clients.’ Source: Citywire
