Both campaigns are ensuring that they are positioned to challenge the election results as was the case in 2000 when George W Bush won Florida’s 29 electoral votes by a razor-thin margin.
Legal Team
Ben Ginsberg, who headed the legal team for George Bush’s earlier campaigns, is heading Governor Romney’s legal team whilst former White House counsel Robert Bauer is now chief legal counsel for President Obama.
With every vote counting, legal teams for both campaigns are poised to intervene at the first sign of technical difficulties, voter suppression or illegal activity. ‘We’ve retained or opened pipelines to the nation’s top experts on voting systems, registration databases, ballot design, student voting and provisional ballots,’ an Obama campaign official told the Washington Post.
