Linklaters SP candidate Comiskey named corporate head

Less than two months after missing out on the role of senior partner at Linklaters, Aedamar Comiskey has been named global head of the Magic Circle firm's corporate division.

London-based Ms Comiskey, who lost out to frontrunner Charlie Jacobs for the SP post in a partnership vote in May, succeeds Matthew Middleditch as global corporate head.

FTSE 100 clients

Ms Comiskey sat on the firm's partnership election committee for four years and had a three-year stint as co-head of Linklaters' retail sector group. She is the lead relationship partner for a number of the firm’s FTSE100 and FTSE250 clients and has done a number of high-profile M&A deals in the Latin America market. She is also a non-executive director at FTSE oil and gas company James Fisher and Sons.

Global corporate chairman

Hong Kong-based Mr Middleditch has been a partner at Linklaters since 1990 and has been handed the newly created post of global corporate chairman, which will allow him to take a more ambassadorial role.

Both will begin their new position on 1 September 2016.
