Milbank starts Seoul office with M&A focus

Milbank, Tweed, Hadley & McCloy has just opened a Korean office which will focus on international M&A, private equity, project finance and - reflecting the managing partner's specialisms - aviation.

Hong Kong-based partner Young Joon Kim, a specialist in aviation finance and dispute resolution, has relocated to the Korean capital to open and run the new base. He is joined by an associate - and the two will work closely with the firm's global teams of transactional and finance lawyers.

Scott Edelman, Milbank's chair, said: 'Given the extensive working relationships we have inside Korea’s public and private sectors, it will be a great advantage to have a full-time office closer to our clients – and to better coordinate with our offices globally, in Asia, Europe and Latin America, as well as the US.'
