The firm is heading for the energy and mineral rich areas of Myamar and Thailand with plans to open offices in Yangon and Bangkok in the next month. In a statement the firm said, ‘The opening of our office in Myanmar, which is attracting attention as a fst growing emerging market, and our office in Thailand, which many Japanese companies are making inroads into, is in line with our commitment to respond to our clients’ needs and expand our network in Asia.’
Servicing Japanese companies
The statement went on to say: ‘We also recently opened offices in Beijing, HCMC, Hanoi and Singapore, and regularly send out lawyers on secondment to India, Indonesia, Malaysia, etc. Our overseas presence in Asia, in close cooperation with our offices in Tokyo, Osaka and Nagoya, enables us to provide quality legal services to Japanese companies wherever they do business in the region.’
The firm’s associate Yusuke Yukawa will head the office in Yangon whilst associate Hideshi Obara will represent the firm in Bangkok.
