The Global Legal Post’s annual Women & Diversity in Law Awards is now accepting nominations for 2025’s event, which will take place in London on 18 March.

The awards celebrate people who are striving to make the legal profession a more diverse, equitable and inclusive place and are using their voice to push for greater change in the industry. The awards ceremony provides a platform to highlight the progress the industry is making on DE&I and recognise the work of those who are making a difference on the ground.

The 2025 awards will be split into three headline sections – Outstanding Women Leaders, Outstanding Women Practitioners and Diversity, Equity and Inclusion – with more than 30 individual categories within them. They include awards such as Woman of the Year, Law Firm Leader of the Year, Mentor of the Year, Disability Initiative of the Year and Gender Equality Initiative of the Year, among others.

Joining this year’s judging panel include No5 Barristers’ Kawsar Zaman; All Africa Capital’s general counsel Lesley Wan; LawCare CEO Elizabeth Rimmer; Clifford Chance’s UK head of inclusion Nina Goswami; First 100 Years founder and Obelisk Support CEO Dana Denis-Smith; The Female Fraud Forum’s Phoebe Waters and Herbert Smith Freehills’ CEO Justin D’Agostino. Making a nomination is easy. Individuals, legal teams and businesses can nominate others or themselves. To make a nomination, click here and simply fill out your details and who you are nominating, the category for nomination and an optional statement explaining the reason for your nomination.

The deadline for nominations is Thursday 12 September. After the deadline, nominees are then invited to enter the awards by completing a questionnaire for our panel of judges to review, with the best entries making the shortlist.

This year’s awards in March featured 350 finalists, awards judges and other legal professionals, and was hosted by British actress Natalie Gumede. Bar Council vice chair Barbara Mills KC was the winner of the Lifetime Achievement Award, Fieldfisher director Caron Heyes was named Woman of the Year and Danone’s Sabrina Nguyen took home the General Counsel of the Year award.

Other winners included Clifford Chance’s senior tax manager Kalela Mwenya (Unsung Hero), Matrix Chambers’ chief executive Rachel Holmes (Responsible Leader of the Year) and Goldsmith Chambers’ Anthony Metzer KC (Mentor of the Year). Firms and organisations including Reed Smith, RPC, the International Bar Association and the Law Society of England and Wales also picked up awards.
