The firm had double celebrations in the Americas withan expanded presence in Mexico City and a move into a new high-tech office space in Toronto.
Mexico city expansion
Nortons held a celebration in their Mexico City office at one of the city's premiere contemporary art museums, Museo Rufino Tamayo, to mark the firm's new offices and expanded presence in Mexico and Latin America. Hernán González Estrada, partner-in-charge of Norton Rose Fulbright's Mexico City office, said “We wanted our clients to join us and our global colleagues in a celebration of our commitment to Mexico and wider Latin America. We were thrilled to host the city's preeminent players across the financial, corporate and energy sectors and look forward to future opportunities to collaborate.” The Mexico City office is an integral part of a multidisciplinary, cross-border Latin America practice that provides a full service offering to Mexico-based businesses on domestic and cross-border interests, as well as to international investors focused on the expansion of existing and new operations in Mexico.
Toronto icons
Nortons also moved into state-of-the-art office space in Toronto, which the firms says will help the firm to better serve its clients while providing an optimal work environment for its lawyers and staff. The firm says the new space is bright, collaborative and dynamic, underscoring the commitment to innovation and collaboration. The office is located in the iconic TD Centre in the city’s financial district, and occupies the top four and a half floors of the building in a complex designed by modernist architecture pioneer Ludwig Mies van der Rohe. Terence Dobbin, managing partner of Norton Rose Fulbright’s Toronto office, commented “We are delighted with our new office, which provides us with a truly modern, vibrant and collaborative working environment which is reflective of our brand and our people. We challenged ourselves with the design, asking ‘How can we do it better and differently?' We are thrilled with the outcome and are certain that it positions us for the future. Aside from the iconic location, the offices boasts a collection of colourful, contemporary Canadian art.
