US President Barack Obama has re-nominated the National Labour Relations Board's top lawyer Lafe Solomon, giving him another opportunity to be confirmed by the Senate.

Mr Solomon has been serving as the agency’s Acting General Counsel since June 2010, as when Mr Obama nominated him for the full general counsel role in January 2011 the Senate didn’t act.
The Wall Street Journal reports that Mr Solomon has been involved in several high-profile disputes, including signing off on an unfair labour practice complaint the agency filed against Boeing and being accused by the NLRB inspector general of violating the agency’s ethics standards – which Mr Solomon denied.
